Silicon ore (quartz sand, silica, etc.) is widely used in glass, ceramics, photovoltaic, semiconductor and other industries, and its beneficiation process directly affects the purity and market value of the product. The main goal of silicon ore beneficiation is to remove impurities (such as iron, aluminum, mica, feldspar, etc.) and improve the purity of SiO2 (usually required to be ≥99%). Crushing and grinding
Coarse crushing: jaw crusher (discharge ≤ 150mm).
Fine crushing: cone crusher (discharge ≤ 10mm).
Grinding: ball mill + classifier (grinding to -200 mesh accounts for 70%~90%).
Grading magnetic separation
Spiral classifier or hydrocyclone to remove ore slime (affecting flotation effect)
Weak magnetic separation (magnetic separator, 1500~3000Gs) → removal of strong magnetic minerals (magnetite).
Strong magnetic separation (high gradient magnetic separator, 8000~12000Gs) → removal of weak magnetic minerals (hematite, limonite)
Flotation acid leaching
Reverse flotation (preferentially floats out impurities):
Positive flotation (preferentially floats silica):
Mixed acid (HF+H₂SO₄) dissolves trace impurities (Al₂O₃, Fe₂O₃).
Dehydration and drying
Concentration: High-efficiency deep cone thickener (underflow concentration ≥ 65%).
Filtration: Ceramic filter (moisture ≤ 8%).
Drying (optional): Rotary dryer (moisture ≤ 1%).
